Bug with pasting text #487

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.Paste longer string of text
2.Clear with RMB
3.Paste shorter string
4.Notice that the result is new string + leftover chars form old string

This does not happen when deleting the old string with backspace, but it can 
get time consuming with long strings
