How many RAM have this device?
Android can unload activities when there is not enough memory.
I don't want to implement auto store/restore state, because RZX replays will be
broken.

Strange.
Is official firmware used?
May be some "tweaks" installed?
Also check "Unload activities" option in android developer menu.

To open developer menu you need to fast tap (5x) on "build number" in android
setting "about phone" menu.
May be it's lenovo's modified Android version behaviour - unload activities
when app is not active?
