Add second block #3

Requested feature: checker-boarding two blocks on the quilt.

This is a major feature that requires a lot of overhaul; we will need another canvas and related UI:

Choose which block is being edited
Select the preview display mode (all 1, all 2, 1-then-2 checkerboard, 2-then-1)

The main branch has recently added tabs, because it is moving in this direction. The full vision:

Model/View split for the "editor" canvas
Editor tab: block selection menu
Preview tab: block painting features

Analogous to the tools that paint on the editor with color, the preview tab would have tools that paint on the preview with whole blocks. Spin/flip tools would also be relevant there.
