What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.In Excel 2010 i query the opportunities table. i change a value, lets say a
string field from "A" to "Z", i press update, i get a warning that i am going
to update the specific record (i am Administrator) and the update is not
happening. The same procedure was working on the past.

On what operating system? Windows 7 64bit
what Salesforce.com edition? Professional edition

The operation i fiollow was working in the past.
