The save the dates basically just need the date and the city. and our names obviously.

Copy:

Save the Date
Jenny & Richard
August 19th, 2017
Stittsville, ON

Will you be sending them as-is, or do you need space to write on them at all? Will you be sending them in particular envelopes? (I can suggest nice paper stock that might match.)

jennybeans commented 8 years ago

Sending as-is! they act as a general so-you-know. nice matching envelopes would be nice! vistaprint i BELIEVE lets you personalise envelopes. I'd also like to have our address on the envelopes.

jennybeans commented 8 years ago

Save the dates should have our full names on them, please! also the year and Ottawa instead of Stittsville

sarahmonster commented 8 years ago

In-progress; will have a better update tomorrow or Wednesday! initial-mock a

jennybeans commented 8 years ago

OH ALSO. Please use Ottawa, Ontario instead of just ottawa and apparently having the wedding website on there is good for people. so jennyandrichard.ca

sarahmonster commented 8 years ago

Side note: if we need to keep the budget lower for these, one option could be potentially sending them as postcards, rather than a card in an envelope. Just some food for thought!

jennybeans commented 8 years ago

I WANT THEM AS POSTCARDS 100%

sarahmonster commented 8 years ago

Awesome! You should pick a size you like from here, and also contact the printer to talk about budget and turnaround time to make sure we're on the right track. We can definitely make the design two-sided if you'd like, but I'll focus first on getting the front sorted! (You're on my list for an updated mock-up today.)

jennybeans commented 8 years ago

5x7 is my size choice!

sarahmonster commented 8 years ago

Sooooo these definitely need some tweaking in terms of pattern and typography, but I wanted to give two ideas here, so you could at least choose the direction you liked best....

std-card a

std-card b

We can do some mix & match here, since they're both stylistically similar/the same.... so let me know what you like and what you don't, and we'll go from there!

jennybeans commented 8 years ago

I love Option #1! Please change: the cursive in the testicles for when/where to non-cursive Move the testicles to have them look less like testicles

UPDATE save-the-date- recovered

sarahmonster commented 8 years ago

We're going to want a design for the back as well... yes? With I think the website URL?

jennybeans commented 7 years ago

the back can be white with .. navy lines for the addresses? and the website url please (jennyandrichard.ca)

sarahmonster commented 7 years ago

For sure! You don't need space to write stuff, right? Also do you want the address/etc to be horizontal, or vertical?

jennybeans commented 7 years ago

oh I email-replied to this but apparently it didn't work.

I need space to write an address for each person! that is it. I would prefer it be typical postcard on the back. so ... long side for address?

sarahmonster commented 7 years ago

save-the-date-final-back

I re-drew the border so it's more geometric. The back might be a bit plain... what do you think? (Also note you should totally test it by printing it out to make sure the lines are an okay size!)

LOVE IT
