Can we allow for the word to use some more space? 

But then once there is a fourth icon in the dashboard it again needs to fit. So is it a thought to have a dash in the German word as a backup?

Yor're probably right.  I just checked and found a similar Issue with the bar on the webapp on my iPhone where "Lokale Informationen" is just cut at the beginning.

Supporting locale specific word breaking is not supportable.
