A new theme framework could be implemented to provide skins and themes 
through a content provider or intents. Graphical elements like background, 
widgets or icons could be shared between various applications, like OI 
Shopping list and OI Notepad and other applications.

The tricky part is to find a URI scheme, so that arbitrary applications 
could access arbitrary theme providers, and end users can install 
components independently, without the need for a centralized theme manager 
or similar.

This has been implemented in OI Shopping List 1.2.1 and OI Notepad 1.2.0.
Various themes are available already, and third party developers can create 
custom 
themes.
