Some scientists have manifested interest into having alias for attributes.
One specific case is if in one scan we want to track an attribute: for example one attribute from a MOCO called beam_in. In this case we can give an alias to the device of the for example: 'moco', and if we do an scan in order to track the attribute moco/beam_in, and we include this attribute to the measurement group, when we launch the scan the data coming from moco/beam_in will be displayed under the title 'moco/beam_in'. This name is too long for some scientists and they would prefer only the name of the attribute instead of having device/attribute in the title of the scan column reserved to the attribute data.
