Requested 'purple-events >= 0.3' but version of libpurple-events is 0.2 #10

I got this error even when I compiled and installed libpurple-events from the HEAD of its git repository. As far as I can tell, this plugin is requesting a version of libpurple-events that simply doesn't exist.
