Suggestions for the backlight feature #111

First, thank you so much for this great firmware. I really appreciate it.

I have 3 suggestions:

1.

I'd like to have another option for the backlight feature. Currently, you can
set a time period after which the backlight is turned off if you don't use any
of the sticks/pots/buttons. It would be nice to have this feature also with
just the menu buttons involved. i.e. the backlight is just turned on by those
up/down, +/-, menu, exit buttons and turns off after the given time period even
when sticks or pots are moved.

I think such an option would be nice since you usually just need the backlight
when navigating through the menu, but when you are controlling your model there
is often no need for it.

2.

I'd also suggest another selection of time periods. At the moment you can chose
from half a minute to 10 minutes in step size of 30s. In my opinion there is no
need for a constant step size but instead for shorter periods. I'd prefer
something like 5s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 1m, 2m, 5m, 10m or similar. Apart from that
it might be worth thinking about whether it makes sense to go up to 10m. I
can't think of a situation where this may be useful.

3.

There is an option to have the backlight always turned off. How about adding an
option for always on? I was thinking about an "ON" and "OFF" option in the
list. Currently, instead of "OFF" there is just empty space in the menu.

Using a time feature is better for people who use telemetry and would like to
glance at the screen. I am planning on installing a light sensor in place of a
switch to control the light when it is dark.

The time periods would be a great feature especially if you could implement
them together... Press a button and it stays on for X seconds then turns off.
This would be great for basic, non telemetry flying.

You are right, for telemetry the current solution is fine. As you said, it
would be great to have both features.

So two options which will turn off the light after a given time period without
input. With the only difference that one option will be unaffected by stick/pot
movements.

I forgot to mention that.
