Calibration not orthogonal #38

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Perform calibration according procedure (centre position, top right stick
position, bottom left position)
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Operate transmitter normal way. Controls vary (bottom left, top right) from
-100% to +100%. But from top left to bottom right they reach -97%, 106% due to
small mechanical differences in the plastics of the transmitter body.
Personally I do not see a problem with 97%, but I see situations where 106%
(since it is larger than 100%) could pose problems.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Turnigy 9x with SW R133

Please provide any additional information below.
I suggest to change the stick calibration procedure to a 2 step sequence, where
step 1 (centre calibration) remains identical. The control limits would be set
in a single step, where the 2 sticks are moved around through all 4 corners,
while the SW is registering the extremes on all 4 ADC's.
The extremes found this way would guarantee that you never exceed 100%.
