Backlight OFF when error message, should be ON

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. THR stick centre position
2. program backlight to ON
3. switch on TX

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected: THR alert message with backlight ON
actual: THR alert, but backlight stays OFF, only when you press a key, the 
backlight switches ON.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
I would love to see the alarm message, so I expect the backlight to be ON when 
I programmed it ON.
