Trim works reverse in 3/7 #82

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. set AIL to -100 in screen 3/7 to reverse input to several mixers at once.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expect: AIL function is inverted, AIL trim is inverted
actual: AIL is inverted, but AIL trim works normal

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
R185

Please provide any additional information below.
I programmed an elevon plane with mixers. To achieve the correct function, I
could have set both mixers to -50%,-50%, but decided to leave them at +50%,+50%
and invert the input from the AIL stick in menu 3/7. Surprise at the flying
field when I tried to trim the plane. The trim works the other way around.

I can confirm this issue also with r190

In my opinion it makes no sense to have the option for negativ weight values at
3/7

ok, probably comment #2 is right. There is no real use case for negative
weight-values.
Additionally it is not trivial to solve the trimmer-problem.
For negative weights we could invert the trim-values, but for curves with
random shape this decision is not well-defined.
I think for now we simply recommend not to use negative weights. This is
currently only useful when, for any reason, the sticks deliver an inverted
signal.

dont use negative Weight values in the Expo-Menu unless you really know what
you are doing.
