Sounds doable, but not quite sure yet.

BTW, doing MSIX means it possibly becomes distributable via Microsoft Store 😉 (But not sure)

This enables AVIF thumbnails in the explorer.exe as well.

They also just added support for JXL in Edge browser so they'll probably add thumbnails themselves to their file explorer

Hi, I don't think JXL has ever been enabled by default in Edge browser, so that will take a while.

Well obviously? It's not enabled by default in any browser. It's getting support faster than AVIF though (which was the fastest codec to ever get support) https://caniuse.com/jpegxl so it'll happen in next month - two
