What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

-worked on moderator abilities for each group -created new components: ManageGroup, MemberList, Member -backend for removing user from group -made the components mobile friendly

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into?

-I didn't face any major issues/challenges

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)?

-I'll work on adding custom criteria checkboxes in PlaceList -I'll work on displaying rating and order based on averages of only checked-box criteria

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)? I created a new User Profile component, which summarizes all the relevant data for a current user. I also started working on the making the Add Review component work with custom review criteria.

What were any major issues/challenges you ran into? Figuring out how to make my components mobile friendly and getting Ant Design to style the way I want it to was challenging.

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration (2 weeks)? I plan to finish the Add Review Component and edit the backend and database to work with custom review criteria.

What did you work on this past iteration?

• Setup Github Actions for 2 automatic deployments to Heroku (production and staging servers)
• Implement image file upload functionality for user profile picture, group logo and place image.
• Upgraded authentication (very robust now):
  • Salted and hashed password in db
  • JSON Web Tokens to make API requests and remember user on frontend.
• Search Bar for finding places by name or address
• Render place address on multiple pages & improve styling for placeView's overall rating.

What were any major issues you ran into?

• Figuring out how to make our authentication layer secure so users could not easily pretend to be another user or make API requests without any authentication proved to be very challenging. Days of learning about authentication standards, APIs, JSON web tokens, cookies, session IDs, and I was able to resolve the issue.

What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration?

• Extend our backend API to allow for creating new categories with custom criteria.
• Continue to make our API more secure with only responding with resources only current user should see.
• Clean up code base & tidy up our Readme.

Built concepts & plan to implement custom criteria throughout app Changed design of PlaceView to use Ant design principles and display responsively Built Add Category view including emoji component and grapheme splitter to validate emoji and dynamic add criteria fields Designed database structure for adding custom criteria to application throughout Designed custom-criteria concepts for integrating multiple criteria into PlaceView What were any major issues you ran into? Finding a concept for custom criteria that would be easy enough to implement quickly and yet differentiate our app from existing similar products was difficult Moving pages using pixel-based spacing and styling to using responsive spacing and class-based styling was not always easy Behaviour of Add Category dynamic fields and emoji validation was not always intuitivee What do you plan to work on for this coming iteration? Deliver custom criteria into a fully functional feature throughout the application Clean and polish code throughout Add features or additional improvements as possible including moving content filtering to back end, adding pre-submit form validation and similar Performing informal user testing and building documentation to move our app into the final presentation stage
