mic not recording? #5

perhaps related to #4 - the mic stayed open for 10s, when I thought it would automatically detect end of speech (per @satra 's in-person demo, but maybe I'm mistaken).

I was also unable to hear my recording when I played it back, so it may not have actually been recording/saving mic data.

on android this appears to be a bug where you have to restart the app after giving it permission. this is posted on IRK, waiting for a resolution.

can there be a forced restart with a 'the app needs to restart for permissions to take effect' message until that's fixed? would be a shame to lose every android user's first day of data
