Fern Problems #102

Hi.

I have Fern 2.2 installed on my Kali.

It has never worked properly. Can someone give me the command to use to uninstall it and install the latest one (If there is)

Problems I'm having:-

1) When I start Fern, it does not find any networks. I have to quit and start it again and again to get it to find networks.

2) If I get past that stage, I choose a network that supports WPS, Select WPS Attack and then click the "Wifi attack" button. On the left hand side, it does not get past "Associating with WPS device" and my processor goes up to 100%

I'm having similar issues. I tried launching from the icon and suggestions in other threads including

root/kali:chmod +x /usr/share/fern-wifi-cracker/execute.py
root/kali: cd /usr/share/fern-wifi-cracker
root/kali: sudo fern-wifi-cracker

When I do the above I get the following:

Unhandled exception in thread started by <bound method mainwindow.set_monitor_thread of <core.fern.mainwindow object at 0x7f195e77d640>>
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/fern-wifi-cracker/core/fern.py", line 498, in set_monitor_thread
self.emit(QtCore.SIGNAL("monitor_error(QString,QString)","red","problem occured while setting up the monitor mode of selected"))
TypeError: SIGNAL(str): too many arguments

One thing I have noticed is consistent, once I select my interface card wlan0, the card goes dead. I do an ifconfig and it isn't there anymore. I have to do an ifconfig wlan0 up to bring the card back up but fern still never comes up.

I am running fern 2.2 on kali. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do know the problems you are having Krash50, I was having this problem recently and I resolved it by doing the command

sudo apt install fern-wifi-cracker

if this does not work I would also like to recommend trying sudo apt update fern-wifi-cracker

If you do find success I found only able to boot it through the terminal by running Sudo Fern-wifi-cracker
