I think this is acceptable but can you please rebase on master?

Hey @Wardrop - thanks for the contribution! We haven't heard from you, so I tried to rebase this commit in another branch, and it failed the specs due to the global state persisting between tests. Fixing now myself to get it into main branch and will circle back once it is merged.
