Thanks for reporting! I'm assuming you're reporting it here because the guide is referencing this somewhere? PRs are always appreciated!
Reading this more carefully I don't quite understand what this has to do with the guide. I can't find any reference to the Solarized theme. Closing.
iTerm2 in version 3.2.9 doesn't accept color preset when importing Solarized dark theme. The other theme works well.
It works well if I used built-in ls.

I have installed coreutils and added a "gnubin" directory to your PATH from my bashrc $ brew info coreutils coreutils: stable 8.31 (bottled), HEAD
Use these commands with their normal names
PATH="/usr/local/opt/coreutils/libexec/gnubin:$PATH" MANPATH="/usr/local/opt/coreutils/libexec/gnuman:$MANPATH" export PATH export MANPATH
Used the coreutils's ls
$ which ls /usr/local/opt/coreutils/libexec/gnubin/ls
$ alias la alias la='ls --color -la'
