Apologies - I just rebased #18, didn't think it'd be appropriate to modify the original author's code to conform to best practices. I'll make sure to do so next time, or at least to prepare another PR to address this.

Appreciate this. I don't contribute to many open source projects other than my own, so I'm still a bit unsure as to what the proper etiquette is.
