What's the motivation for this? If its only for golf carts and scissor lifts I would argue that this feature isn't really necessary. Only SCC members can drive golf carts and the number of people who can operate a scissor lift should be sufficiently small that it doesn't need to be tracked in Binder. Plus, unlike other tools and golf carts, there's no real need to track who has the scissor lift "checked out"; it should be pretty obvious.
Unless we are getting scissor lifts for builders now?
This year, because of university restrictions, not everyone on SCC will be able to drive golf carts, so this feature will allow us to track who can and cannot drive golf carts. This however is secondary to the use case of scissor lifts with this feature.
This years exec board has also decided to provide scissor lifts to orgs for checkout. However, we are now being required to check that only people who have completed the EH&S / FMCS course online are able to use the scissor lifts. To do this we are preventing scissor lift tool checkout if you have not completed the course and using high visibility wristbands to prevent checking out and sharing of the scissor lift.
Users can acquire certifications and tools can require certifications. Only users that have the required certifications will be able to check out the tool.
