error: [Errno 98] Address already in use
Next time fill the issue template properly and use one of the recommended pastebins.
And set your download and library path properly for f*ck's sake...
thanks for your quick and friendly reply, it is very usefull: 1) try setting the download-path and library path when the application is crashing every couple of seconds....I cannot navigate the menu's that quickly. 2) I actually put some effort into providing information. I'm sorry if this did not met the standards.
Could you please give some explanation on the cause of this error?
Your sarcasm is almost funny, points for you there heheh
You have two processes running, and for some reason it's unable to kill the other one even with the lockfile process ID.
Existing process found from lockfile, killing...
The easy solution to that is to just reboot the device.
All menu's (from quasar and/or other applications) get killed during the restarting of the daemon. (so I have to start navigating from base menu back to settings, etc. etc. I only have like 4 seconds to update any settings before the settings-menu disappears)
I've tried to eliminate any external causes to this issue by making a complete clean install of Kodi (osmc) and only install the latest quasar version that I downloaded from here. (no other apps installed)
I rebooted the device several times but on restart the problem continues.
You know that one time you get some user-feedback saying that the app doesn't work and somehow that problem solves itself and you as a developer think 'you screwed something up and now you fixed it'...
feel free to glide through those emotions right now. I did a clean install again, installed the .42 version of quasar and updated it. No problems anymore a.t.m.
Thanks for taking the time to read the logs and responding. (I really, really like the program)
Yeah... if there's an underlying issue, I'd rather fix it properly ;) But glad you got it working now!
If you run into that problem of not being to change settings again because it's restarting, just let it do its thing of restarting three times, then you can change settings without any interruptions.
to give some feedback: the restarting process did not stop after 3 times yesterday/this morning. I let it happen but the daemon seemed to be restarting infinitely. Also, the problem started out of nothing. I was not currently making any changes to the device . After the new installation of Kodi the problem persisted which made me think it had something to do with the new release. (could also be any automatic update from Kodi)
But hey, I don't know anything about python/linux, the problem's gone and I'm happy. Thanks again.
Since yesterday the v0.9.76 Daemon keeps restarting on osmc (Kodi) startup. (never ends restarting) I did a clean install of osmc Kodi to check if it was related to my config but this did not solve the issue.
I think all related version/system/error info is in the log below:
