→💻 To get started to open source, we should follow some guidelines and those guidelines are provided by the project owner/maintainer. Apart from that there's also some guidelines that we should know and follow to make a valid and meaningful contribution to open source.

1. Branch Naming Conventions

• Every project has crucial branches, and these are the
• Main/Master-Default branch and stable branch
• Development is the area where all the changes are made, and it is kept distinct from the main branch.
• QA is where all of the testing is done.
• These branches' names ought to follow the team's overall naming scheme. The branch name may contain terms like "bug fix," "work in progress," "problem it will resolve," "author name," etc.

2. pull request

• Explain your pull request well and make it descriptive.
• Link pull request with the issue using issue hash.
• Review changes before creating a pull request and squash unnecessary commits.
• Add screenshots of a solved issue.

3. Issue

• Always create a new issue, if you have some new idea, stating what we want to change with a proper description.-
• Use labels to check status of the issue.
• Good-first-issue labels are a suitable for beginner's in open source contribution.
• Notify others that you are working on the issue by comments, it will decrease conflicts b/w contributors.

4. Code Quality and Linting Code

• We should maintain code quality and validate it with linter.

Advice for Hacktoberfest

• The main aim of Hacktoberfest is to encourage people to contribute more to open source projects. Apart from the basic knowledge of Git & GitHub, you don't really need to have any other skill to get started.

• You can register anytime between September 26 and October 31. So make sure you register and start contributing. You can register as contributor or repository manager or both if you want. Make sure to fill the registration form correctly regarding this.

• Search GitHub for label "Hacktoberfest" to find valid contributions towards Hacktoberfest.

• For PRs to be counted into your participation in Hacktoberfest, they must be merged between October 1st and October 31st. Contributions must be made to public repositories.

• If a PR has a label that contains the word spam in it, the PR will not be counted. Also, if a participant has 2 or more spam PRs, they'll be disqualified from Hacktoberfest.

• If a PR has a label that contain the word invalid, it will not be counted. The exception for this is if the PR also has the label hacktoberfest-accepted

First I nothing know about git & github now with help of this event I learned many things about GitHub . Thanks for conducting this challenge or we can say a challenge where there is nothing to lose only your knowledge in the field of GitHub, and gitbash will increase. I want to say a big thank you to all the community members, especially @shivaylamba sir, for sharing his amazing knowledge about open source and giving opportunities to others to learn.
