Product Inquiry - monitor distant machines #41

I am not writing about an issue but would like to make an inquiry on the
product. I could not find an email I could send my inquiry to so I am writing
here. Is logkeys capable of monitoring keyboards from multiple machines? Can
the monitoring be in one box which has a different location from all the
machines. So basically all machines are on different locations. We are looking
for an application that can monitor Point of Sale applications and user key ins
from a single point.

Hi there, :)

No, I don't think logkeys is capable of monitoring multiple machines (ATM not
even multiple keyboards). It relies on running machine's Linux kernel to
deliver keyboard events, and it employs no network functionality that would
grant otherwise.

In order to monitor all Point-of-Sale machines, logkeys would need to be
installed on every single one of them and then optionally send logged input to
your central archive.
In fact, I think this is really how computer worms, trojans, etc., monitor
users' activity in general — they install on machines first.

Best Regards,
