Unable to save resume file: No such file or directory

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. I download a magnet link
2. It starts. Loading peers, seeders
3. IT GOES PAUSE and the following error appear:

Unable to save resume file: No such file or directory

I use iPhone 4 iOS4.3.3, 
iTransmission v.0.5

Having same issue. If I start torrent it will find peers then gives the same 
error. It used to work great then I restored phone and now this has begun. I 
have tried restoring again and redownloading app but same results.

This cause of this issue has been discovered. The file path is different after 
restoring and making it unable to locate the data. This shall be fixed in next 
release. 

If anyone experienced it and has not restored the iOS device recently in 
anyway, please keep complaining...

Mine was fresh install—first time user. Factory fresh iPad 2, never restored, 
recently jail broken using comex's jailbreakme.com. Should this still have 
occurred?

Also, how soon can we expect the next release? Fingers crossed!

If you did a fresh install, you shouldn't be encountering such errors. Can you 
try deleting iTransmission and then reinstalling? 

In next release, I plan to update libtransmission backend so that it can use a 
set of mobile device optimized configuration included in newer version of 
libtransmission. However, some code doesn't run yet (because of libevent2 
incompatibility I guess), so I don't have any expected release date yet. And 
for some stupid reasons I didn't do backup so I can only proceed if I can 
compile libtransmission properly.

Already removed and reinstalled, from two different sources. Also tried messing 
around with file permissions, giving global read/write/execute to app folder. 
Any other ideas?

Keep up the good work! Any chance of interim release w/o new libtransmission 
that addresses the resume file errors for the meantime? Thanks again.

You said from two different sources, were to referring to Cydia source? If you 
installed it from Cydia can you try removing it in Cydia and then install the 
lastest IPA package in Downloads Tab? 

Sorry and no. The code is modified for newer version of libtransmission and 
because of lack of backup it'll take me another day to reverse all my code 
changes. So unless I cannot figure it out within next few free days I may 
consider reversing it.

I got it to work. I deleted the one from cydia and installed the ipa from the 
downloads section here. It now works great!

Okay, everyone I found a fairly easy workaround without iTunes on my Jailbroken 
iPhone 4 with 4.3.3. Firmware.

Things you will need:
-The username/password of your iPhone. Default is username: alpine password: 
root
-WiFi Connection
-FTP (I use WS_FTP Pro)
-iPhone App: iTransmission 1.1 (Download the one from this site. Save it to 
your desktop)
-iPhone App: Installous (Installed from Cydia)
-iPhone App: Downloads (Installed from Installous)

1. After all of these are installed and setup go to Open up Downloads and 
Settings Turn File Sharing On.
Remember what IP and Port your connected to. Write it down if you have to.

2. Open your FTP and connection using the following:
IP and Port from Downloads and use the username and password of your iPhone.

3. After that is established change your directory to 
/private/var/mobile/Documents/Installous/Downloads

4. Transfer your iTransmission 1.1 from your desktop into your iPhone.

5. After that is complete open up Installous and you will find iTransmission 
1.1. 
Select iTransmission and install.

Note: I did this with relative ease because I had all the apps already 
installed minus iTransmission. I already have a torrent downloaded. I used the 
magnet link from ThePirateBay. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I had this problem and managed to solve it in a couple of easy steps.

1) Go into the file details that you having the issue with

2) Look underneath 'State' and you should see an 'Error' section

3) Look at where iTransmission is trying to save the file; in my case it was 
(var/mobile/Documents/Downloads/........)

4) Go into iFile (if you don't have this, get it from Cydia)

5) Try to find the folder where iTransmission was trying to save the file (see 
step 3)

6) If it does not exist, create the folder(s) using iFile EXACTLY as specified 
in iTransmission

7) Delete the attempted download file link from iTransmission 

8) Re-enter the torrent/magnet link

Hopefully it should work....

If not, try reinstalling itransmission

Guys if you are having trouble with itransmission on ipad3 & ipad2 with error 
unable to save file download old version of iTransmission 2.0b30 and then 
delete it and install new version.
This is due to the new version not creating itransmission files under 
/var/mobile/Documents
And so hence can not save the download.
Add insanelyi repo (repo.insanelyi.com)
And download itransmission 2 2.0b30 and this will create the files then go to I 
file to check the files are there once confirmed delete itransmission 2 2.0b30 
and install itransmission 2.4 and will work fine…
Also for the developer great work on creating this!!!
One issue is app crashes one clicking on the download and going to “peers” 
tab at the bottom

Comment 10 works. I had iTransimission working fine until I restored my iPad:
Go to iFile, go to var/mobile/Documents and add two folders "config" and 
"Downloads". Then add a folder to your new config folder named "torrents"

Comment 10 worked for me too! I had a message "error : permission denied" when 
trying to download. I erased every existing file named "torrents", "Downloads" 
and "config" and replaced it like in comment #14

I am having iPad 1 with iOS 5.1.1 jail broken,, installed itransmission and it 
was working fine all of a sudden it stopped downloading any torrents file,, the 
torrents gets added but it doesn't peer and download speed 0 upload speed 0.. 
Somebody who can fix this help,,,,,

In Var/mobile/documensnts/config exist two folders Torrent, excluding onde 
folder, ok Sucesso!!
