Update for scenery 0.9.0 #524

This PR introduces updates for scenery's 0.9.0 release.

The history on this one got a little wonked while I was toggling between feature branches that branched off of this release branch. I believe I cleaned that up though.

Closing this because I'm pretty sure everything is covered by @skalarproduktraum's merge. I'll grab things from here if they are needed.
