9 years ago Heya, the roadmap currently is:
Pre release:
- Add the
<skybox />element - Fix up scene to scene transitions (it currently reloads the page which sucks)
- Move
colorparameter into the styles attribute, work on style parsing - Add
collidableattribute to style - Create collision cubes from mesh extents
- Fix up the vrsupport branch so you can reset the orientation of the Oculus Rift
- Fix up #2
- Fix up #11
- Add documentation for all the elements
- Link all the scenes with the
<link />tag - Add in-room chat
- See if the server and client work on npm for windows
Other pre-release tasks:
- Work out how to host multiple instances that hand users over to the next instance once we have reached max players (from my testing this will be around 16 players in one instance - but I'm aiming for 64 players per process eventually)
Longer term - there's a bunch of stuff I'd like to do:
- Offer a 'quality setting', from no shadows and low res textures at one end, to high res, HDR, realtime shadowmapping at the high end
- Create touch controls and support for the gear VR / cardboard HMDs
- Add
<video />textures - Add
<group />elements for grouping together elements with nested transforms - Add avatar customisation (colors, names)
- Add avatar meshes (retire pegman)
- Add mesh-based physics to cannon.js (currently only cubes and planes are supported) - look at swapping out with bullet for production servers
- Replace some of the xml messages with msgpack messages (for positional updates)
- Profile the server, find out what's slow and see what can be rewritten in C++ for better performance in production - using libxml might be a good start
- Add positional and ambient audio
- Use stencils to draw portals to the next scene like JanusVR does
- Add better error handling (currently the node server crashes when your code has an exception)
- Add XMLHttpRequest object to the standard environment so you can talk to the internet
- Add a persistence layer to the standard environment (localStorage, indexedDB or redis)
So yeah - I've got a bit of a road map, I'll create issues for everything pre-release and set up a milestone. I'd love to have your help! :)

Just wondering what your future plans are for this project and areas that you might want help. It's a pretty exciting project to me and though I've been into Janus VR for a little while, this is basically the exact idea of what I thought a more 'modern' project should look like. Huge Kudos.
So in terms of the future, features you want to add, and general direction, I'd love to know what you're thinking so that I can possibly align some goals that I also have.
