Drugs plugins : Lack of support for traditional "Mitte"

I prescribe dilaudid 2mg. I say "use non-prescription NSAIDS or acetaminophen, 
but if the pain 
is too severe, use the dilaudid".

The patient asks "how many can I use" and I say "use it up to 4 times a day" 
... however I do not 
expect they should be needing it 4 times per day. The patient also asks "when 
should this pain 
be better?", and I say "one week".

How many does the pharmacist supply? In France, does the pharmacist
- give the patient 28, since that would be the maximum?
- give the patient however many they should desire, up to (but not exceeding) 
the maximum 
possible of 28?
- phone the doctor?

In Canada, when the dosing is inconstant, the doctor is required to specify how 
much to give the 
patient. This spares the need to specify a time frame which, for self-limited 
conditions, may be 
of unpredictable duration.
