Display of large records - formatting #209

As it is, formatting is completely discarded. There's no way to make separate paragraphs, bullet points, etc. so while this keeps a good log of activities, it's not a good place to put other useful things like code snippets. This should really be fixed.

additionally, we need long records to be expandable with a ... so as to not overwhelm the screen with data.
