Will be great to have PairDrop as a Chrome extension so that I can achieve the following from my laptop to phone a. Share some copied text from a site b. Send the URL address c. Send any raw text

duplicate of https://github.com/schlagmichdoch/PairDrop/issues/232

@ueen do you plan on releasing the extension on the chrome web store too?

ueen commented 8 months ago

I'd love to see it in chrome web store - someone feel free to do it! I won't do it because I don't use chrome, don't think anyone should and last time I checked there was a fee (?) and quite a heavy registration process.

I just checked and apparently there is a 5$ + tax one time registration fee to distribute as many extensions as you want. Didn’t know that.

Probably, it would be enough to add a .ctx file to a release that can be sideloaded by anyone interested

Not exactly a duplicate from the Firefox add-on since this one is about Chrom(e|ium) and, AFAIK, those are two different browser bases, with two different extension APIs.

I second the extension idea, mainly for being able to always send stuff to the desktop target as well, so the background complexity would be needed. Otherwise, the extension wouldn't be much different from a bookmark

This could be a great replacement for the mostly defunct Pushbullet.
