9 months ago I'm closing this issue as K2D2 is handling docking guidance adequately well, and any improvements are more likely to occur there. I will continue to work with that mod's developer for collaborative improvements in this and other areas. If you would like more or better autopilot features I encourage you to reach out to cfloutier on the KSP2 Modding Society Discord, or on his GitHub repo, or on his KSP2 Forum thread
Add a capability to assist with docking when close to a target vessel. This should include an aid to selecting a target docking port, and selecting the appropriate control point on the active vessel.
This capability should use res appropriately and main engines appropriately is a logical sequence tha results in the docking vessel approaching the target docking port along it’s axis.
