I have posted issues, fixes toward compiling LibreOffice in Scarthgap.
In case you guys do decided to tackle this, you might find my success report to be helpful.
EasyOS is a Linux distribution built with packages compiled in OpenEmbedded. I have updated to Scarthgap, and have your meta-office as a layer.
EasyOS has the dependency packages from meta-office, and I was able to compile LO in a running EasyOS. See my blog report:

Of course, the cross-compile environment of OE will have additional challenges.
