Bulk file upload #7

Would there be a difference in either use or workflow for bulk file upload and bulk metadata upload?

I can see this as bulk item deposit (via SWORD or other) and bulk metadata as a means for editing the way it is in DSpace.

I haven’t yet used bulk item deposit in DSpace (via SWORD or otherwise). How does that work? Selecting multiple individual files to upload? Folders? Zipped files and/or folders?

About bulk metadata, I can see cases in which one would want both the ability to create/edit bulk metadata within Hydra and to create/edit bulk metadata outside Hydra and then upload it (via XML or something comparable).
