Wildlife might get no water #14

Open schoos76 opened 5 years ago

On maps without natural water sources, wild life might have a big problem staying on the map - they either get dehydrated or move away. Solutions

In Extreme Desert and maybe also in der Desert Biome there is really no water available (hidden water spot always maps to 'real' water resources, it's just an access spot. Similar considerations for icesheet and other cold biomes, with only frozen water Possible Remedys:

Here is my approach to solve this problem, that I currently try to balance:

result/ goal:

When you start feeding them kibble, hay or silage, all of them will require additional drinking water. Something similar could be done with corpses and meat to cover carnivores as well.

This solution doesn't break immersion by treating wild animals differently than tame animals as it would be the case with just removing their water need. Also it's fairly realistic (many real world animals in extreme habitats never drink, still they can die from dehydration if they don't find proper food).

What's your opinion?

I would help with the balancing and patches for other mods!

That's the main direction I was considering myself, but didn't have the time to followup so far. If you already have ideas for settings, let me know.
