Better auto-update interface #95

Currently the app automatically updates itself. On startup it checks for updates, and if it finds one it downloads it in the background, then alerts the user.

We should have a settings pane where users can choose whether they want auto-updates, to be notified about available updates, or not to check at all. Then we should have a nice unobtrusive indicator for when updates are found, downloading, and ready to install - perhaps sitting in the top title bar next to the logo.

To add to this - not sure if this was related to this one bug about not syncing, but it didn't seem to download anything, console also didn't show an update. So I updated manually.
