April and I paired on this - we need ssl: false and remove the openssl none line in the production config
Production deploy succeeded and mailer configuration tested in production.
Ready for client review.
Appears to be working. I resent the user invite that initially failed, and I'll reopen this ticket if there are any issues. But I expect it will be fine.
This ticket passes Soft Serv QA.

The user I tried to invite before is still not receiving the invite from our site. His email is pbenner at puc dot edu. I just tried to resend the invite again now (3:30pm Eastern, 1/17/23). I also resent the user invitation to his gmail account, in case his work email filters are somehow blocking the message from Hyku.
Summary
This is a result of scientist-softserv/adventist_knapsack#471 : Yesterday I tried to create a new user on the ADL site, and the recipient didn't receive a registration email. I invited him using his work email, then I resent the invite to that email, then we tried an alternate gmail address. He never received a Hyku invite.
There was an old ticket that was closed about mail set up so the mailer was confirmed to work at one point.
