MP4 files not appearing in UV #497

Open grahamjevon opened 9 months ago

Science Museum reported that after importing MP4 files these were not available in the UV. I have replicated this using the BX zip import method. The file can be downloaded from the work successfully. But the item has no thumbnail image and it does not play in the UV. I imported the file at about 5pm yesterday and left it to process overnight.

This one is still processing

It is currently showing a 404 (not found) : https://bl-demo.iro.bl.uk/concern/conference_items/4a82d838-a0b1-455e-b148-02a82a881694?locale=en but that is because the derivative has been being created for the last 4 hours... depending on the size of the file this may not be a surprising amount of time

0.86G... that'll take some time and resources to transcode

Tested on Open & Engaged videos that previously failed to upload to production. These successfully loaded on staging and can be successfully played in viewer. Largest of these is 1.75GB. Uploaded via BX. (Example 1 and Example 2). These are about 20 minutes long. I can fast forward and skip ahead in the videos successfully.

Tested on 90 minute SMG video. This uploaded successfully via and can be viewed in viewer. However, fast forwarding causes this video to freeze.

Newly uploaded MP4 Not available in viewer It's not as large as other files, at 11 minutes 30 seconds

SMG uploaded an MP4 on Friday. The file is present because I can download it and I can play the downloaded MP4. However, the MP4 is not playing in the viewer.

The 11min 30second SMG MP4 now uploads successfully. There is a definite improvement in MP4 uploads and imports since the WebMD processing was removed and the worker limit was increased.
