Module loading RAL hackathon (15-19 MARCH 2019)

Goal

This weekend's goal is to get the module loading software running on the RAL system. Requires compatibility updates for difference (eg with lighting) between the US and UK systems.

Status as of end of day Friday

• Switched to the new loading computer here at RAL

  • Windows 10
  • 64-bit LabVIEW 2017
  • Updates with RAL system may not run on BNL system since BNL running Windows 7/32-bit LabVIEW 2016
  • Something to keep in mind and watch!!

• Started a new branch for our developments: https://github.com/sciollalab/BNL_ThermomechanicalStave/tree/RAL_master

• Removed AerotechLibraries folder from Git tracking

  • These libraries are necessarily system-dependent!
  • Includes all VI's and dll library files
  • Full contents of the {InstallationDirectory}/Aerotech/{ControllerType}/LabVIEW20YY directory
  • Example from the BNL Aerotech A3200 controller resources:

• Aerotech controllers are different in US and UK

  • US: A3200
  • UK: Ensemble
  • We will have to make some wrappers to account for this (thanks Francesca for cross-checking US system)

• Successfully updated Aerotech Ensemble controller firmware from version 3.04.002.0003 → 5.05.006

• Stage runs with LabVIEW control (SimpleMotion.vi) or Aerotech Ensemble Motion Composer

• Attempting to migrate loading camera to new loading computer FAILED

  • Jens designed and is 3D-printing a mount for another camera
