Docs build fails on checkout for PRs from forks? #151

See https://github.com/scipp/plopp/pull/319. I am not sure if there is something wrong in the checkout ref which is specified, but the tests pass while the docs build fails on checkout.

We will try to fix in plopp first and then propagate the fix upstream.
