Open scopatz opened 10 years ago
Well played @scopatz. Now I guess we get to review it again? Yay.
I'll take it from here unless you've got strong objections.

No objections from me.
Nope.
Thanks for reviewing my paper @ahmadia, @mandli, and @mmckerns. I appreciate the time and feedback that you gave. I have tried my best to recall and update the paper to the best of my ability and memory. I agree that the version you saw suffered from minor multiple personality disorder. I attempted to rectify this. I now believe it to be a stronger and more cohesive work thanks to your feedback and prodding.
Unfortunately, I have moved on. These edits are really all that I can offer. I don't really have the time or energy or funding to go back and rewrite major portions of this work. In some sense, I also feel that such an effort would be disingenuous. I believe that the paper in its current form does capture the spirit and mood at the time of its writing. Bringing it into the present would diminish its value as a historical artefact. While it may be lazy and self-serving to wash my hands of it now, I think that it would be wrong to misrepresent it.
Publish it or perish it as you see fit. I think it is a good piece and - more importantly - representative of my thoughts at the time. Is it a great work? No. Is it my best work? Sadly not. I could have done better. I wish that I could reliably role-play myself from 2 years ago but I am too biased for that.
In spite of its persistent flaws I still hope that you do decide to include it in the proceedings. Once again, I truly thank you for the effort that you put into this. It is herculean to review a paper under these circumstances. I apologize that my editing efforts seem so sisyphean.
