ENH: show only most recent revisions

The old revisions are usually of no interest, so it's better to show only the most recent one in most contexts.

This PR adds a simple way to do this, and changes the tag view to do just that.

The test failure is unrelated, and fixed by gh-126

The most_recent() could perhaps also be used in other places than just the tag views.
