What log to look at in order to troubleshoot: Weather Image Unavailable #10

Hello I am still facing Weather Image Unavailable.

How shall I troubleshoot ?

I have already tried with and without metric option and from the gov provide, accuweather and wmo providers without success.

I have of course ensured that I have access to internet from the kindle as I can browse internet with the experimental browser.

Thanks a lot,

Sam

I don't have the program configured to log to any persistent location. I can think of two easy options, however.

  1. If you have SSH access to the Kindle, manually execute /mnt/us/weather/bin/update_weather.sh and look at the output.
  2. If you'd rather have the output logged to a file, edit this line by appending 2>/mnt/us/weather.log to the end of it. Then, after the program runs, you should see a file in the root of your Kindle's USB storage with the output. https://github.com/scolby33/weather_kindle/blob/4d21c55b56e87343fe0a05fb92b5680f5535aac0/src/weather/bin/update_weather.sh#L25

I haven't tested these ideas, so they might not be perfectly correct or even helpful, but whatever the results are, post them here and we can continue troubleshooting from that point.

I'm having the same issue. When running that script I get the following ...

mv: cannot rename 'var/cache/weather/weather.png': No such file or directory Usage: download_weather.py [-r | --rotated] [-t
