If we like the idea of banners on the list pages, we should have a different banner for each page.
The ones on the site currently I found for Associations and Places (though those can change too if desired). Those images are from here and here. As you can see, a larger image that a good slice can be used from is great. It can be tricky to get it to work on all screen sizes, but I'll do my best.
