This repository is only focusing on UDP communication with RP2040 over Ethernet. Were there any attempts to interface RPi Pico to RPi running LinuxCNC directly using SPI?

Maybe this example of communication between RPi5 (RP1) and RP2040 can be useful: rpi5-rp1-spi.
