TMC6300 equivalent? #83

Hi! I am on a very similar project like yours and took it as my main inspiration source. I am struggeling with the TMC6300. Not with the chip itself but with its availability. Especially the BOB version is out of stock for at least 2 months in Europe.

Is there any other driver that is known or you at least tried which works also with these kind of gimbal motors?

Try [MP6543A.] (https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/products/motor-drivers-and-motor-controllers/bldc-pre-drivers-and-integrated-solutions/mp6543a.html)

It seems like the motor driver is one of the only things that LCSC doesn't stock. If an alternative were identified, I think it would be possible to order pre-assembled boards from JLCPCB.

cweagans commented 2 years ago

MP6543A appears to be discontinued at LCSC. Not sure if that's discontinued by the manufacturer or just that LCSC doesn't carry it anymore.

I found https://lcsc.com/product-detail/Motor-Driver-ICs_TOSHIBA-TB67B001FTG-EL_C2150544.html , which I think is pretty close to what we need?

Just looking through some of the schematics a bit now -- is the motor being driven with 5V? The motor is rated for 7.4V. If it just needs 5V, I think there are a ton of options available.

leofidus commented 1 year ago

AFAIK the board drives the motor at 5V, because that's what's conviniently available. Driving the motor with less voltage isn't a problem per se, it just performs a bit worse.

There is 3PWM STSPIN233 wich similar specs.
