Submit plugin to the Mattermost Plugin Marketplace #195

Summary

It would be nice if Remind Bot were available in the Mattermost Plugin Marketplace.

Describe alternatives you've considered

This isn't really applicable. I guess the alternative is that it remains available here only.

Additional context

The Mattermost Plugin Marketplace provides the ability to install and update plugins from within the app directly, without needing to download the plugins locally. The steps for submitting a plugin to the marketplace are available in the documentation. The main thing that would need to change before Remind Bot can be published there is the policy requires submitted plugins to be on version 1.0.0 or greater, so a new release would need to be made.

On further review, there are currently several plugins in the marketplace with version below 1.0.0, just marked as beta, so it may be possible to submit Remind Bot even before hitting version 1.0.0.

@raphmim @pugetc @icsu I am available to do work with this plugin.

@hanzei @aaronrothschild @esethna is this still desired as a plugin? I believe I had heard it was going to be part of the core product.

i am holding movement of this plugin into the marketplace or closure of this issue, until response from the mattermost team. @hanzei @aaronrothschild @esethna @jwilander

via @jwilander, I have heard that

1) the Mattermost team is building reminders baked into the product, generated on their own requirements, lead by a PM with QA and paid support. ( i am not going to compete with that) 2) the Mattermost security team is backlogged with plugin reviews so turn around time on this plugin into the Marketplace is going to be slow at best.

I am currently leaning towards letting the Mattermost team handle this feature as they see fit @hanzei .
