Having run both Tribute, and non-Tribute runs in the past couple of weeks, I can confirm Kromcrush does use fear when fighting him, although the Captains seem to fear more than he does. However, due to the Ogre Suit not working, we decided to wipe & res just after him on the Tribute run. His damage was indeed low. It took many hits, even on the clothies before he killed us. Normal ogres seem to hit much harder than him.
Jan 5, 2015 report: It appears that some of the patch went live today on Starix. Many things are changed in Dire Maul. I do not see the Changelog post on Forums though.

a) He does 128 dps. This is way off. I just stood there for 2 straight minutes and let him his the tank, so this is a good sampling.
b) He never used his Fear throught the fight. I have no idea what happened here, he used to use it 1 -2 times a fight, never missing a single fight. You could depend on a fear. Often tank, some times others.
NOTE: The Gordok Captain mobs which share this ability, ALL make it work. Each of them got off at least one fear before being dispatched.
What should happen:
a) He should dps moar.
b) He should Fear. Bye the way, this could be linked to the slower Knock Back ability noted during the many (6-7) Mol'dar fights tonight. He only used the ability 1 time in 1 fight. Usually it is every single fight.
