Smartthings #18

Hi,

Would you consider building a SmartThings device type?

Does this need to be run on the same Lan or will it work over L3 from another subnet on same lan

I cant really help you sorry as this project is really geared towards Home Assistant which is much more open source friendly. Smartthings is a form of nighmarish proprietary cloud dystopian chaos...

Totally understand.

If I was to install a HA bridge. Does it need to be on the same physical lan (I.e. layer 2) or will layer 3 work? Server hosted via vpn

The underpinning library works at L3 using IP addressing and UDP so presumably it would function across network segments, funnily enough ive never actually tried!
