Filed a tix with AWS Educate tech support. They concluded the problem as a firewall problem on our (SFU's) end.
I have filed a tix with SFU Canvas support and am working with a tech support person. She in turned have escalated it to a Canvas dev (though unsure if this is an SFU staff or a Canvas staff).
