FRED Resists Dispanding/Deleting Wings (Special Conditions & Theory) #4106

I've been working with TBP:ITB, and recently had to disband wings so I could remove them from the mission, but FRED refused to disband it. When I tried to delete the ships in the wing, it would delete everything but the lead ship, and no amount of clicking, closing and restarting would cause it to do comply. Eventually, I had to open the mission in text editor and delete the wing by hand. Then, I could go back into the mission and delete the lead fighter. This doesn't always happen though. If I had to theorize what was causing the problem, I would speculate that the mission file originally had the ships in the wing, named as their wing. So, if I was creating Libra wing, for example, if I just placed the ships on the grid and then wing-ed them, I would have no problem disbanding them later. On the other hand, if I manually called them Libra 1 through 4, then formed them into Libra wing, I would then encounter the same difficulties when trying to disband them later. This is just a theory though.

I tried a few ways to reproduce this, but I think I need more info. Notably manually naming ships "Libra 1", "Libra 2", etc and then trying to form Libra wing will get you a warning in FRED and the wing will not be created. I tried a bunch of random things and was never able to get FRED to fail to disband a wing.
